Is lysol disinfectant spray enough to clean baby toys out of the box?

can i just use lysol on toys when i open them before giving to baby?
also can stuffed animals be washed in the washer?
no i am not planning to spray them and hand them right to the baby!

I love disinfectant spray! I think it is awesome. Obviously you don't want to give it to your child while it is wet and you just freshly sprayed it, but I use it on my sons toys while he is napping or after he goes to bed and put then run them under hot water and let them dry. It just makes me feel better. But also hot, soapy water works great too.

I wouldn't spray them and then hand them over. You'd want to rinse that Lysol off….they shove everything in their mouths and you wouldn't want them ingesting that stuff.

Most stuffed animals can go in the washer and dryer. As for plastic toys fill your bath tub with water and add 2 cups of bleach after ten minutes rinse well and dry off toys with a clean towel.

I'd rather give me kid stuff straight out of the box then give them something covered in lysol. Just wash the toys with warm soapy water

If you do wash them in disinfectant, they will need a good rinse afterwards. Maybe fill the sink with a few baby sterlising tablets and wash in that, it kills all bacteria and is baby safe :-) Most Teddys can be washed unless they are electronic. Hand wash in a bit of non bio wash powder.

I would just use the detergent soap and water I use when washing up my baby's bowls and cups etc. You shouldn't make an environment too sterile, some germs are good, as long as the toys haven't fallen in dog mess or something in which case I would just throw them out!
If using a disinfectant, use one like Milton that is made for cold water sterilisation of bottles etc. It is then safe for a baby to stick in their mouth afterwards.
you can wash most soft toys in the machine as you would with delicates, I have and have had no problems.

use clorox anywhere spray. much safer for item s that will end up in the mouth and yes put the stuffed animals in the washing machine
